Every idea counts.
If you treat your employees like superstars they will become superstars.
Currently I am working on animation and music projects for my training programs. I am working with a multicultural workforce. For example, for my book project I work with many Caucasian business people; for my music project I work with young African-American Rappers; for animation I work with Asian artists; and for community work I train women prisoners to be superheroes.
I have been speaking around the world talking to CEOs and managers about how to become superheroes—global leaders. When I speak to CEOs and managers, or prisoners on how to become superheroes, I can see from their eyes and body language that they are excited and want to hear what I have to say.
I strongly believe everyone is a superstar. How quickly each person chooses to become a superstar depends upon the individual and how willing they are to respond to the techniques that I share with them.
As a manager you have to treat everyone as a superstar including yourself just like the coach of a soccer team.
Here are five tips to make your employees become superstars.
1. Always praise them for a job well done and when they make mistakes praise them too. Superstars make mistakes too.
2. Let them know they are progressing. Any experience they do gets them to the next step. Let them know it so they can be proud and get that superstar mentality.
3. Let them try different jobs in the company. They see the company from different perspectives. They understand the other person’s job and how he or she operates.
4. Give them new training opportunities. Many employers are afraid their employees will leave if they get a lot of training. This is eye-opening for the employees. They will give back to the company.
5. Don’t micromanage superstars. Let them work in a different environment: work at home, in the park, restaurant, or coffee shop as long as they bring results. Trust them.
Remember...You Are a Super Hero!
